Compliance Manager

Job Purpose

The Compliance Manager will be responsible for the Company's compliance obligations across a wide set of regulatory regimes, geographies, and business lines. The Compliance Manager will implement, oversee, and enhance the Company’s compliance-related procedures. They will also identify changes to regulatory regimes and work with the Legal Department to update and create new compliance-related procedures. The Compliance Procedure will work closely with and provide support to the Operations, Finance, Procurement, Sales, and Marketing teams.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage compliance-related product restrictions across multiple categories (nicotine, cannabis accessories, etc.)
  • Carry out compliance assessments during product and vendor onboarding.
  • Maintain and organize all compliance documentation for hemp products.
  • Manage packaging compliance requirements globally for consumer package goods and interface with partners to ensure their compliance.
  • Administer the Company’s Proposition 65 compliance program.
  • Manage compliance requirements and documentation for child-resistant packaging.
  • Monitor and assess marketing language and website copy for regulatory compliance.
  • In conjunction with Legal, track and analyze regulatory developments that impact Greenlane and its partners.
  • Support Finance in managing state/provincial tobacco and vapor product licensure.
  • Manage recall procedures and conduct recalls if needed.
  • Design and conduct compliance training.
  • Other compliance projects on an as-needed basis (e.g., maintenance of shipping documentation, UL labeling).
  • Other duties as assigned by manager or designee.


Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 3 years of applicable compliance experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., cannabis, tobacco, supplement, medical device, pharmaceutical).
  • Ability to assess applicability and impact of laws and regulations on the Company’s business.
  • An effective written and verbal communicator who is comfortable enforcing company policy consistently.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish tasks with limited supervision.
  • Ability to balance multiple concurrent work streams.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office and other relevant productivity tools.
  • Passion to work in an industry with a positive societal impact.
