Job Purpose

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial Creative Director to lead creative strategy at Greenlane and our brands including Higher Standards and Vibes Papers. You’ll launch new products into the world and iterate on existing ones in our portfolio. You’re passionate about reaching new audiences, testing ideas, and creating engaging brand experiences.  This role will lead concept design and execution of all marketing needs for the brands

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Push the creative forward for each of our current brands
  • Translate high-level marketing and business insights into creative action
  • Set the bar for the creative team across all disciplines
  • Manage timelines and budgets for the creative team
  • Drive innovation in all aspects of job: creative execution, user experience, marketing tactics, workflows and organizational structure
  • Define direction for all seasonal campaigns and marketing projects including: branded promotions, charitable initiatives, direct mail, retail and product packaging & labeling, PR look books and events, new store marketing collateral and signage, store set window graphics, store set sign packages, email, social media, digital marketing and the website
  • Ensures that the integrity of the brand is present in all facets of the digital experience while supporting e-commerce business goals
  • Oversee creative for online and offline advertising, photography and ownership of lifestyle and product images
  • Manage team of designers and copy editors to deliver projects on time, on budget and brand appropriate; constantly evaluate resources and accountabilities within dynamic environment
  • Oversee budget responsibilities for creative services expenses such as freelance employee costs, training, travel and other team expenses
  • Push creativity and explore new ways to craft unique solutions that reflect and evolve the brands
  • Execute creative strategy based on corporate initiatives established by executive leadership
  • Partner and collaborate with the Brand managers in developing photo art direction and choosing casting and location selections for lifestyle photo shoots
  • Lead brainstorming meetings, guide creative development of multiple directions for the seasonal look-and-feel and art direction
  • Stay current with competitive landscape, emerging trends and site metrics to inform work
  • Other duties may be assigned by supervisor.

 

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, art, graphic design, communication, or other related field
  • 7-10 years' design experience in agency work
  • 3+ years managing a creative team
  • Demonstrate strong creative instincts balanced with very solid strategic and analytical capabilities
  • Proven people management and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to work with and influence senior management
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills
  • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast- paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Experience creating brands from the ground up, including developing brand guidelines (visual & voice)
  • Ability to translate business insights into creative execution
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity
