Job Purpose

 

The System Administrator role will support and manage both on-premise and external cloud-based applications, databases and servers. The Systems Administrator is responsible for provisioning, installation, configuration, maintenance and support of hardware and software infrastructure network systems.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Developing, maintaining and supporting technical infrastructure, hardware and system software components in a Hybrid environment. (Cloud and On Premise).
  • Performing installation, maintenance and support of systems – network hardware/software and user support.
  • Configuring, debugging and supporting multiple infrastructure platforms.
  • Performing high-level root-cause analysis for service interruption recovery and creating preventive measures.
  • Coordinates and/or performs additions and changes to network hardware and operating systems and attached devices; includes investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation and testing of new systems/network hardware and software.
  • Provides direct support in the day-to-day operations on systems/network hardware and operating systems; duties include evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
  • Troubleshoots at the physical level of the network, working with network measurement hardware and software, as well as physical checking and testing of hardware devices, at the logical level working with communication protocols.
  • Participates in planning design, technical review and implementation for new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice, video and data communication networks.
  • Provide support for and manage user’s mobile devices, tablets, desktops/notebook/ computers, MFP printers, Handheld devices, and other computing equipment. Set up, manage and maintain new employee’s network, email and telephony accounts. Manage active directory, group policies, dns, dhcp, user accounts, permissions, and access rights to computer systems.
  • Maintain & support VMWare 6.5 ESXI Hosts, Windows Server 2012/2016 R2 Server VM’s, AD, File, Print, RDS, SQL and Application Servers; Storage Solutions, Linux Centos, Mac OS , Windows 10, APC Symmetra Power Backup, and other related virtualization hardware and software.
  • Administrator for Google G Suite & Office 365 Email Server Environment.
  • Implement, administer and support computer network/systems security solutions.
  • Administer and support patch management solution for network/systems hardware and software.
  • Administer, maintain and test data sets for Backups, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
  • Deliver on-time support using Jira IT service desk, phone calls, Hangouts Chat and personal visits.
  • Build out internal technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies/procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager or designee.

 

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, IT Industry Certifications (Microsoft, Linux, VMware and Cisco) or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of experience in the Information Technology field.
  • Able to work in a team environment as a successful contributor.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, customer service skills and desire to accomplish goals.
  • Team oriented, hard work ethic, strong oral communications, follow up and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn and support new computer systems and adapts to rapid and ongoing changes in technology.
  • Technical documentation skills.
