Human Resources Generalist

Job Purpose

The Human Resource Generalist coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs in collaboration with Human Resource staff, assists and advises company leaders regarding Human Resource issues/policies. The Human Resources Generalist performs human resources-related duties at a professional level and may carry out or oversee responsibilities in some or all the following functional areas: employee relations, compensation, training and compliance. This position requires an individual to work with all levels within the organization.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other regulations.
  • Ensures personnel files are in compliance with all applicable regulatory and credentialing entities.
  • Ensures all mandatory organizational requirements are completed within established guidelines.
  • Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and subpoenas in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Attends unemployment hearings when necessary and Represents the organization for any unemployment claims.
  • Oversees compliance with team member files, performs periodic audits and participates in file reviews with credentialing entities, Joint Commission, and AHCA.
  • Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner.
  • Assists Director of Human Resources with employee relations.
  • Facilitates or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce.
  • Keeps employee records up to date by processing employee status changes.
  • Monitors and tracks training contracts to ensure all requirements are met.
  • May facilitate new-hire orientation.
  • Assists with employee recognition programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager or designee.


Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, HR Management or related field required.
  • PHR-CA certification required
  • 5 years of Human Resources Experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in human resource generalist role
  • Experience in employment relations, compliance, compensation, performance reviews and other Human Resource functions
  • Proficient with HRIS, Excel, and standard MS Office suite of products
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Must be organized and ability to prioritize work
