M&A Analyst

Job purpose

We are looking for an experienced, quantitatively strong individual who will be tasked with managing financial modelling, document preparation and transaction management involved in executing on M&A transactions with a specialty in Distribution and/or Consumer & Retail.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Financial modeling and analysis
  • Drafting marketing documents (information memorandum, teaser, management presentation, etc.) and presentation development
  • Conducting prospective buyer analyses
  • Supporting company due diligence, researching industry trends, etc.
  • Providing support to senior management throughout multiple transactions at any one time
  • Miscellaneous project work as assigned

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • The ideal candidate will have at least two years of related M&A experience working within an investment bank, M&A corporate development, valuation group, transaction advisory services, or related financial services organization
  • Strong proficiency in performing the key analytical functions involved in an M&A transaction: financial analysis and modelling, valuation, prospective purchaser research and presentation material preparation
  • Experience in both in managing the internal elements of a transaction and participating in meetings
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • An understanding of financial statements and GAAP accounting
  • A positive attitude, the ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • MBA preferred
  • Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint.
