Job Purpose

The warehouse manager will perform a variety of duties associated with maintaining a safe, clean, well-organized and structured warehouse environment under limited supervision. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to providing exemplary hands-on leadership and mentoring, in addition to supervising shipping, receiving, stocking, distributing, traffic, and managing inventory, forklifts, pallet jack equipment, and company vehicles. A special focus on ensuring a seamless and consistent systematic processing of all activities/operations, as per established Standard Operating Procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Always promote and ensure a Safety-First Awareness and OSHA compliant facility
  • Ensure all inventory movements (orders, transfers, etc.) are systematically progressively transacted
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and immediate corrective measures for SOP adherence throughout all operations
  • Understanding of KPI’s, establishing, maintaining, and reporting metrics monitoring the warehouse operations
  • Maintain robust cycle counts, accurate inventory levels, proper replenishment, replenishment, and reporting
  • Track, log, and audit all inventory product ensuring there are no discrepancies or losses and report
  • Responsible for facility security, maintenance reporting, housekeeping and setting/disabling alarm systems
  • Report any and all issues regarding facility and employee relations to your Director of Operations or HR
  • Verify purchase orders and tracks shipments of orders, supplies, and equipment
  • Accountable for productivity measures/metrics, KPI reporting, service levels from the DC to customer/account
  • Perform daily inspections for safety, cleanliness and supply levels
  • Responsible for outbound shipment audits and monitoring discrepancies
  • Assist in receiving unloading supplies and products as well as outbound shipping loading
  • Maintain computer and other records and files associated with receipts, distributions, returns, repairs,
  • Maintenance and disposal of parts, supplies, and equipment
  • Ensure forklifts are in good operating conditions and daily inspections are being conducted by certified users
  • Supervise, evaluate and mentor warehouse staff/team
  • Have daily communication meetings with your teams
  • On-Going, Continuous improvement initiative opportunities for overall distribution and operations
  • Control labor costs, overtime and manage stringent operational controls
  • Effectively communicate to internal and external customers where applicable
  • Keep Director of Operations informed of any and all issues, concerns, changes and output productivity
  • Other duties as assigned by manager or designee

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Four-year Degree a plus.
  • Critical thinking, analytical and effective problem-solving skills
  • Naturally optimistic and self-propelled/motivated
  • Must enjoy working within a high paced, multi-tasking work environment.
  • Must have forklift certification and Dangerous Goods Shipping certification
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other inventory management software
  • 7 + years’ experience in full circle warehousing operations. Multi-site facility/personnel management a plus
  • Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices and warehouse operating techniques
  • Knowledge of standard warehouse or stockroom practices and procedures, Developing SOP’s
  • Knowledge of the managing accurate system inventory concepts and understanding of financial implications
  • Experience with administrative functions and procedures
  • Skilled in using a computer and basic application software used in warehouse operations
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Must have Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers
