Senior Accountant

Job Purpose

The Senior Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with quarterly reviews and annual financial audits conducted by our external auditors
  • Perform monthly income statement and balance sheet variance analyses, investigating the root costs of any material or unusual changes
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions
  • Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, intangible assets, and prepaid expenses
  • Maintain and reconcile finance and operating lease schedules, in accordance with ASC 842
  • Assist with the monthly GL closing process in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
  • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to management’s attention
  • Review all inter-company transactions investigate issues as necessary
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Delegate financial responsibilities to accounting team
  • Conduct regular ledger maintenance

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • BS in Accounting required, Masters preferred
  • 4+ years professional finance experience
  • Public accounting experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP, SOX, general ledger accounting
