Product Developer, Pollen Gear

Job Duties

 

The Product Developer for Pollen Gear will support and oversee the development of our new products and will take ownership of the design-to-production development cycle. Working closely with the Industrial Designers and global supply chain partners, the Product Developer will oversee the development to ensure that products are on schedule, within cost, and meet specified requirements.  They are expected to efficiently communicate with overseas partners and to problem-solve any issues that arise during the development process. They will need to keep track of multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely product launches. The Product Developer is also expected to be on the cutting edge of materials and production capabilities to present to the design team for innovation on future designs.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with designers & factories to develop products within specified timelines & budgets.
  • Develop process improvements to ensure product quality and productivity.
  • Communicate new product ideas and concepts to Factories and Sourcing Teams.
  • Negotiating with vendors, improving productions costs, and meeting demanding objectives and deadlines.
  • Communicate daily with overseas and domestic agents, factories and suppliers.
  • Coordinate with Designers in preparing product design documents and specifications.
  • Ensure that products meet specified requirements during development.
  • Review and recommend changes to current product development processes.
  • Maintain expert knowledge on product development procedures.
  • Maintain product requirements, technical and functional documentations, and cost charts for reference purposes.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot product issues during development.
  • Work with management on development plans, budgets and schedules.
  • Provide Design team with new process, materials, and techniques to support innovation on new product designs.
  • Develop cost reduction initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager or designee.

 

Qualifications & Skills Requirements

  • 2+ year’s experience in a product development / production management role.
  • Basic manufacturing knowledge & ability to understand 2d & 3d technical documents.
  • Exceptional attention to detail & organized record keeping.
  • Understanding and experience using general project management software.

Preferred skills

  • Fluent in Mandarin.
  • Adobe suite (Photoshop & Illustrator).
  • Experience working with Eco- friendly materials.
