Warehouse Team Lead

Job Purpose

The Warehouse Team Lead receives, stores, and distributes materials and products within the warehouse ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all job functions. The Lead fills in for the Warehouse Manager in his/her absence.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Acts as the backup to the Warehouse Manager and works closely with the Lead of picking, packing and shipping.
  • Has keyholder responsibilities, Open or closes the Warehouse as designated by manager.
  • Ensures all orders approved by 3 pm ship the same day.
  • Ensures the product received the same day is put-away within 24 hours to its proper designated location and updated in the inventory system.
  • Performs daily cycle counts as given by the manager of inventory or warehouse manager.
  • Ensures that all warehouse SKU transactions are being completed systematically, as well as physically.
  • Operates Material Handling Equipment.
  • Performs daily cycle counts for material such as cartons, tape, packaging material, and labels.
  • Pays attention to detail and appreciates the importance of Inventory Control.
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Sweep, dust, and mop. Always organize warehouse and work area for orderliness and cleanliness.
  • Assist with providing the necessary security within the warehouse.
  • Replenishment from pallet racking to case pick and each pick locations, prep and stock locations through-out the day.
  • Lead a team of one to three employees.
  • Assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed by the warehouse manager.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager or designee.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Minimum High School Diploma required or 4 Year College Degree.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years inventory, shipping, receiving and warehouse operations experience is required.
  • Must be certified to operate a forklift.
  • Must have ERP experience Computer skills required.
  • Must be experienced with Excel and Word.
  • FedEx and/or UPS ship manager experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to communicate in English, both verbal and written.
  • Good people skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel. 
  • Demonstrate good organizational skills based on priorities and the number of personnel available.
  • Must possess good time management skills and can multi-task.
  • Willing and able to make decisions within the Team Lead area of responsibility.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
  • Work includes pushing and pulling.
  • Must be able to lift upwards of 75lbs.
