Job Purpose

The Warehouse Shipper/Packer is responsible for auditing products against the sales order and carefully packing products in the correct size carton. The Shipper will use a computer-based program to assist in creating labels, choosing shipping methods, DG/HAZMAT if applicable and retrieve information needed on the invoice from the order. They will ensure that the packages are ready and prepped for shipment with proper labeling to be picked up by the courier.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage all orders given daily to pack and ship through the system accurately on-time and productively.
  • Proper knowledge and constant updates with Hazmat/DG procedures and processes.
  • Selecting accurate packing cartons and packaging material for products to be packed in.
  • Auditing product by scanning and reading serial numbers, SKU’s, qty’s, PO’s, Prop.65 labeling.
  • Creating shipping, Hazmat, DG or UN labels if applicable to each carton.
  • Standing for long periods of time and lifting heavy objects.
  • Pack, count and verify order accuracy independently.
  • Assist in other areas of the warehouse.
  • Keep the area clean and stocked as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager or designee.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • A High School Diploma.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in shipping, receiving and warehouse operations.
  • Familiarity with shipping software.
  • Good Computer skills are required.
  • The ability to communicate in English, both verbal and written.
  • Must have good people skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
  • Must possess good organizational skills based on priorities.
  • Must possess excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Must possess attention to detail.
  • DG/HAZMAT certification required.
  • RF scanner experience.
  • Ability to Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Ability to work overtime and some weekends when necessary.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
  • Work includes pushing and pulling.
  • Must be able to lift upwards of 75lbs.
