Financial Reporting Manager

Job Purpose

The Financial Reporting Manager plays an integral role in Financial Reporting’s recurring reporting process by providing support in the areas of financial report preparation and compliance. They will prepare and analyze financial reports, assist external auditors, and complete recurring monthly financial reporting deliverables, quarter-end tasks, and other projects as assigned by management.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead as the main resource to oversee the daily management of the financial reporting function to ensure timely and quality filings and internal reporting deliverables
  • Responsible for the preparation of the quarterly and annual financial statements (and related footnotes and MD&A) filed with the SEC (Form 10Q and Form 10K).
  • Serve as a liaison with the Company’s external auditors, assisting them during their quarterly review and annual audit procedures.
  • Analyze complex accounting transactions considering appropriate authoritative guidance to conclude on proper accounting treatment.
  • Analyze, design and develop reporting to meet the needs of the finance department.
  • Develop new reporting and modify existing reporting to support business need.
  • Assist with the detailed review of monthly reconciliations, schedules, and journal entries, as needed.
  • Prepare monthly consolidation of financial results including variance analysis.
  • Supports business decisions with financial information and analysis.
  • Responsible for all aspects of monthly, quarterly, and annual external and internal reporting requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager or designee.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • BS in Accounting required. Masters preferred.
  • 5+ years of related financial reporting and systems experience.
  • Must have prior experience preparing financial statements and related footnotes.
  • Strong technical accounting skills with the ability to independently research complex accounting issues and determine proper accounting treatment.
  • Experience with ERP and reporting systems preferred.
  • Public accounting experience is preferred, CPA a plus or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam.
  • Exceptional knowledge of GAAP, SOX, general ledger accounting.
  • Ability to multi-task and quickly prioritize to manage conflicting deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality work.
