Job Purpose

The Pricing and Merchandising Analytics Manager will lead and develop the team responsible for ensuring Greenlane's category and item level pricing and promotional (P&P) strategies and insights are implemented, measured, and optimized across the full product life cycle through the use of strategic pricing and modeling tools and testing.

He or She will oversee the development of reporting and analytics to support Merchandising teams and will play a valuable role in leading a team in delivering data-driven, actionable insights and recommendations through strong analytics that will inform both enterprise and category level planning and strategy for Greenlane.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Drives pricing process and contributes individually and builds a team of individual contributors responsible for using tools and capabilities to deliver competitive pricing recommendations across the full product life cycle to their merchandising partners
  • Ensures that pricing and promotional strategies are developed, implemented, measured, and monitored effectively and efficiently through proprietary and third-party tools, analysis, and reporting
  • Drivesthe process to measure and monitor P&P strategies and tactics through the use of reporting, dashboards, visual analytics, and score carding
  • Hires, trains, and develops the talent necessary to achieve stated objectives while providing meaningful development opportunities for individuals in preparation for succession planning
  • Develops and presents communications, frequently to senior leadership, that convey the right message in an effective way to the appropriate audience
  • Collaborates with Merchandising, Sales,  and Product managers to create synergies between teams, share a cohesive vision, and foster an environment of communication and collaboration
  • Examines and streamlines workflows and processes within the team to increase efficiency
  • Aligns the team’s time and effort on projects that are critical to the success of the team
  • Manage the actual versus plan forecasting process at the subclass, class, department, and vendor levels
  • Develop and lead merchandising analytics and evaluation of categories on an on-going basis and provide a macro organizational view for senior leadership
  • Identify key insights and recommendations that will inform strategy and planning across all team Merchandising teams; increasing overall merchandising effectiveness
  • Serve as a thought leader for the organization in understanding promotions, pricing, and impact to business
  • Work cross-functionally across several functions including Merchandising Promotional Planning, Marketing Analytics, and Merch Finance teams
  • Accountable for day-to-day and longer-term planning, initiatives and operations for the Promo Analytics team
  • Supports data-driven efforts to understand business and related process effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities
  • Fosters an attitude of experimentation and innovation among Team Members and teams.
  • Contributes to functional budget forecasting and planning
  • Leads data aggregation, analysis, and modeling activities, including:
    • Working with key Greenlane stakeholders to understand business issues and concerns,
    • Determining appropriate data collection and analytical methods and protocols,
    • Generating data and information,
    • Performing statistical analyses,
    • Developing actionable insights,
    • Preparing reports and presentations.
  • Provides continuous and open feedback and mentorship to team members to encourage their growth, assist them in learning new tools, skills and techniques, and take on greater responsibility

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience
  • Flexible, detail-oriented, with strong planning and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient to advanced computer literacy
